What You May Need

These are some things that you may want to look into getting not musts but can be quite useful.
From left to right.

  1. Chilli Powder and Flakes
  2. L-Glutimane
  3. Protein Powder
  4. A Shaker
  5. Slimming Belt

1. Chili powder and chili flakes. These help speed up metabolism and with the HRI tabs and bran flakes boom going to work wonders, if your not a spicy fan don’t use to much and it doesn’t have to be on every meal just something to add to spice things up abit.

[1]A few facts about chilies and why they work so well
·       Chili pepper contains impressive list of plant derived chemical compounds that are known to have disease preventing and health promoting properties.
·       Chilies contain health benefiting an alkaloid compound in them, capsaicin, which gives strong spicy pungent character. Early laboratory studies on experimental mammals suggest that capsaicin has anti-bacterial, anti-carcinogenic, analgesic and anti-diabetic properties. It also found to reduce LDL cholesterol levels in obese individuals.
·       Fresh chili peppers, red or green, are rich source of vitamin-C. 100 g fresh chilies provide about 143.7 mcg or about 240% of RDA. Vitamin C is a potent water-soluble antioxidant. It is required for the collagen synthesis in the body. Collagen is the main structural protein in the body required for maintaining the integrity of blood vessels, skin, organs, and bones. Regular consumption of foods rich in vitamin C helps body protect from scurvy; develop resistance against infectious agents (boosts immunity) and scavenge harmful, pro-inflammatory free radicals from the body.
·       They are also good in other antioxidants like vitamin A, and flvonoids like beta-carotene, alpha carotene, lutein, zeaxanthin, and cryptoxanthins. These antioxidant substances in capsicum helps to protect body from injurious effects of free radicals generated during stress, diseases conditions.
·       Chillies contain good amount of minerals like potassium, manganese, iron, and magnesium. Potassium is an important component of cell and body fluids that helps controlling heart rate and blood pressure. Manganese is used by the body as a co-factor for the antioxidant enzyme, superoxide dismutase.
·       Chillies are also good in B-complex group of vitamins such as niacin, pyridoxine (vitamin B-6), riboflavin and thiamin (vitamin B-1). These vitamins are essential in the sense that body requires them from external sources to replenish.
Chilli peppers have amazingly high levels of vitamins and minerals. Just 100 g provides (in % of Recommended daily allowance)
240% of vitamin-C (Ascorbic acid),
39% of vitamin B-6 (Pyridoxine),
32% of vitamin A,
13% of iron,
14% of copper,
7% of potassium,
but no cholesterol.

2. L Glutamine. I love this stuff, you take it up too three times a day, what it does is this, when you work out you burn fats and build muscle yes but when your running for example your body warms and you reach a certain hart rate your body stops burning just fat but then starts to burn muscle also, L Glutamine gets into your system and stopped your body from burning muscle and continues to burn fat, for myself and many others this is grate, there are many places it can be found with a rang of web sites, I usually get a resalable bagged packed one and pour it into the tub I first got this stuff ranges from £10 to £30 depending on weight i.e. 500g to 1.5kg and brand.  I find Amazon is a good place to go http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_5?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=l-glutamine&sprefix=l-glu%2Caps%2C170

3. Pure Protein. This can be as expensive or as inexpensive as you like. But when you are looking for these look for pure protein if you can and avoid the mass gainers, try and be as natural as you can because once you start to use the mass you then gain water which makes you look big yes but once you stop using them you decrees in size and lose your shape which can bring some people down as after all there work it looks and feels like they haven’t done any thing. The other affects of using the gainers is the skin problems you may come across for example spots and red flushes, they can dry the skin out and also cause gut problems because of the carbohydrates that they are loaded with.
The good things about the pure protein are the way they help your body repair its self. Either if your losing weight or gaining mass protein will help your body through it. When I used to go to the gym before the life style change I would go for a good few weeks and hit it hard not steady just I need to go need to go attitude and would rip the muscles which is a good thing but ach like hell the next day and feel like a crap for a few and have to have a few more days off doing nothing. Protein will help you through that you drink one after your work out promote healing and let it do its thing.

As the weeks go by ill talk more about these proteins and what types are out there and I will also let you know about the deals I come across as I see and hear about them.

If you know of any good deals out there or good brands then please comment and let us know.

4. shaker. It’s a shaker ;) basically it’s a clean and tidy way to mix your powders, be it you glutamine or protein, scoop it in ad your water or your milk and shake well. It also means you can prepare your powders before you go the gym and add water there and hay presto ready five mins after your work out.

5. Sliming belt. That black thing at the back of the photo is what they call a slimming belt, its like industrial cling film which you wrap around your waist. I paid £8.80 including p&p and it is a simple but amazing peace off kit. You wear this when you do cardio such as running or cross trainer to heat up your core temperature to increase your sweating and water loss. Out of all the things I tried over the last year this thing has to be one of my best buys and recommend that in time you do.
